The following positions are currently available:

Tax Site Coordinator
We are looking for a temporary Tax Site Coordinator for our 2011 free income tax preparation sites. As IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites, CA$H tax sites offer free federal and state income tax preparation to qualifying residents from January - March, 2011.

The Tax Site Coordinator is responsible for the administration and logistical coordination of five highly visible volunteer-run electronic tax preparation sites.

Requirements:

  • The use of computer equipment and software
  • Professional management and interactions with volunteers and key stakeholders
  • Application of high ethical standards, and adherence to United Way and Internal Revenue Service policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • General understanding of income tax law, but will receive IRS-sponsored training
  • Successful candidate will work well in a fast-paced environment while displaying a supportive and professional disposition with diverse populations.

Duration: Temporary, November 2010 – April 2011

Salary: $6,000+ for entire length of position (400 minimum hours at $15 per hour). Parking/mileage negotiable, no benefits are offered.

Loaned Executive
Under general supervision of United Way Resource Development staff members, the Loaned Executive (LE) position is responsible for the management of assigned employee campaigns for the 2010 United Way of Greater Portland campaign. 

Duties include:

  • Managing relationships with local companies, assisting with their campaigns
  • Supporting volunteers within the companies
  • Serving as an ambassador for United Way in the community.

Qualifications include the ability to handle multiple projects, work independently with little supervision and function in a fast paced environment.

Candidate must own or have access to reliable car during the 13 week program, as daily local travel is required.

Duration: Program begins with Mandatory Executive Training from August 23-27 (7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.) and runs through November 17, 2010.
